Take Action

Working together to build healing, just, antiracist systems of care.

Online Petitions

“The Student National Medical Association (SNMA), with support from the undersigned national medical student organizations, call upon the governing bodies of academic medicine and research to take firm, decisive, and explicit actions against the persistent and growing threat of racism and anti-Black violence and commit to working towards dismantling racism in medicine and medical education.” SIGN HERE

UCSF Family Medicine resident Annie Le (Ann.Le@ucsf.edu) and colleagues built an online tracker for petitions that have specific asks for healthcare workers to sign.

Policy-based Advocacy

Activists in the AMA Medical Student Section have submitted two key policy resolutions to the American Medical Association. Racism as a Public Health Threat, and Denouncing Racial Essentialism in Medicine.

Please use the language and references provided to introduce similar resolution at your state or specialty societies! Similar statements are being introduced into or passed by other policy bodies (such as the California Academy of Family Physicians, Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians, and New York Academy of Family Physicians).
